Barghouti’s Insults from Prison are Palestinian Authority Political Commentary

The International Conference for Palestinian Prisoners in Morocco has publicized as a political commentary a letter of insults to the State of Israel it received last month from terrorist murderer Marwan Barghouti.

Marwan Barghouti

Barghouti is serving five life sentences in an Israeli prison for masterminding and organizing suicide bombings that resulted in the murders of tens of innocent civilians, young and old.

The unrepentant terrorist, who was serving as the head of the Fatah military group, the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades when he was arrested in 2002, is currently a member of the Palestinian Authority parliament, albeit serving from his Israeli prison cell. Barghouti, who has been re-elected in absentia since 2006, is often called upon by PA media to comment on the entity’s relationship with Israel.  HIs name headed the list of terrorists whose release was demanded in exchange for Gilad Shalit.

In the letter, published January 24 in the official PA daily newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, and translated by the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) he referred to the Jewish State as “the worst and most abominable enemy known to humanity and modern history.” He referred to the PA Arabs as “the great Palestinian nation, initiator of revolutions and Intifadas,” advocating they “continue on the path of resistance” — a euphemism for terrorism.

“The national independence of nations is seized through sacrifice, resistance, resolve and struggle,” Barghouti wrote. “National independence is seized; one does not wait for it.”

The terrorist, not for the first time,  also encouraged a full boycott of all Israeli products, writing, “We must continue to act to isolate Israel further on the international, official and population level and on all levels and in all spheres, as well as continuing the campaign to boycott all Israeli goods, not limiting it to settlement goods exclusively.”

In Case You Missed It:  I saw her naked...

In an October 2010 poll asking PA Arabs who they would vote for in a presidential election, Barghouti received nearly as many votes (19.1 percent) as current PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (20.2 percent), not a positive sign of the Arab man-in-the-street’s desire for peace with Israel. The survey, conducted by the Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD) organization, also found that Barghouti garnered more votes (65 percent) than Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh (31 percent).
