Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was assassinated Tuesday night when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff. The Islamist, angry over a film that ridiculed Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, were firing gunshots and rocket-propelled grenades in a terrorist attack on the U.S Embassy.

This was a planned attack, these were not protesters as some media sources are reporting. These were planned terrorist attacks on U.S interest specifically planned on the anniversary of the Sept 11. 2001 in New York City.

Libya has been unstable since Obama and NATO decided to go in and take out Qaddafi, video footage of Qaddafi being captured were crude and showed him being sodomized and tortured then murdered. Obama decided to wage war on Qaddafi without the approval of congress, since then it has turned into a Fundamental Islamist heaven.

Stevens was appointed as ambassador to Libya in May 2012.

He served as a special representative to the Libyan Transitional National Council during the revolution in 2011, and as the deputy chief of mission from 2007 to 2009. Originally from California, Stevens was an international trade lawyer before joining the Foreign Service in the early 1990s. He also served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps from 1983 to 1985, teaching English in Morocco.

UPDATE:

CNN is reporting that its Middle East sources say that the attack on the US consulate in Libya was pre-planned for the 9-11 anniversary and had nothing to do with the film which is being blamed for inciting the attack.

If true, the attack was very likely a Muslim Brotherhood operation intended to humiliated the United States on the 11th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The attack, which left the US ambassador to Libya and three others dead, would also more clearly come under the definition of an act of war.

Meanwhile, a London think tank with strong ties to Libya speculated Wednesday that Stevens was actually the victim of a targeted al Qaeda revenge attack. The assault “came to avenge the death of Abu Yaya al-Libi, al Qaeda’s second in command killed a few months ago,” the think tank Quilliam said Wednesday.
