Leftism Has Destroyed Venezuela, no toilet paper and now lousy phone service

After years of progressive leftism in Venezuela it is self imploding.

With some of the largest proven oil reserves in the world and they’re still broke. I wonder how South Korea manages to provide everyone with food, clothing, and shelter, not to mention both toilet paper AND cutting-edge cell phone service, seeing as their only natural resources are diddly and squat. Only thing South Korea has in abundance is free market capitalism, and that is the very thing that is lacking in Venezuela. Oh well, these things eventually solve themselves, even the USSR only lasted 72 years. Eventually people get tired of going hungry and wiping their backsides with their bare hands, and they revert back to actually paying the people who make the goods that keep them from living in the Stone Age.
I actually spent time in Venezuela way back in the very early 1980s. It was a reasonable place. They did have some fantastic restaurants but they were expensive unless you were on an expense account which I was. Of course this was long before the madness of Chavez and leftist socialism..
If the culture in Venezuela was different (not Latin), it would be one of the most prosperous places on the planet. The country has natural resources and incredibly fertile land. It was good seaports and good rainfall. Of course we don’t have to mention oil.

This just goes to show you how socialism can screw up anything.

Contrast this with Chile, which has taken a VERY different path. And Chile is now a legitimate first world county with a high standard of living. This is what Capitalism will do for you.
Things in Venezuela keep finding ways to get worse all thanks to socialism. Acute shortages, people can’t find basics like toilet paper. Now, it will be harder to make overseas calls or watch pay TV.

The problem is this: the global drop in oil prices has made dollars much more scarce in Venezuela — which is dependent almost totally on petroleum for hard currency. So local telecoms companies don’t have greenbacks to pay international suppliers.

Bernie supporters and other communists will blame the lower oil prices but that doesn’t explain why the other nations in Latin America isn’t going through the same thing. They don’t even have the oil to export. The real answer is that socialism just doesn’t work. How many times must it fail before the dolts of this world wake up? They always bring up the few success stories in western Europe leaving out that it has completely failed in Spain and Greece, is just putting along in Portugal and Italy

Venezuela need to desperately bring back the capitalist entrepreneurs and the country’s economy will be purring in no time, and toilet paper will not longer be a luxury.
