Palestinian Authority Children’s TV Encourages Violence Against ‘Enemy’ Christians and Jews (VIDEO)

A new video exposed by the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) research institute shows that the Palestinian Authority is continuing to air television programs which teach children to hate Jews and Christians.

In the latest incident, a young girl was asked to recite a poem during a PA TV children’s program. This poem, according to the host of the show, teaches children “responsibility and belonging.”

The messages of “responsibility and belonging” in the poem include insulting Christians and Jews, referring to them as “the enemies of destiny” and encouraging violence against them.

PMW translated the clip and posted it on its website. The organization constantly monitors the PA-based media and translates sections of it which more often than not reveal what the PA – often touted as a “partner for peace” with Israel – really thinks about Israel and Jews.

The following is the transcript of the poem as recited by the girl on the program:

“… The occupier stole my land and my grandfathers’ land…
Where is your sword, Khaled (Arab warrior)?
Where is your courage, Saladin (Muslim conqueror)?
But no one answered me.
Where is my weapon? I found it – a stone. I took it and threw it at the enemies of destiny. I taught the world that the Muslim in the name of Allah cannot be defeated…
They challenge us with the White House, and we challenge them with the [Islamic] awakening and the Kaaba [in Mecca]. They aren’t stronger than Khosrau and Caesar (rulers of Persian and Byzantine Empires).
They [Christians and Jews] are inferior and smaller, more cowardly and despised. They are remnants of the [Christian] crusaders and Khaibar (i.e., Jewish village destroyed by Muslims in 629)…
Oh Muslims of the world: Awaken, you have slept too long.
Your fathers and your sons are being massacred, your Al-Aqsa [Mosque] is defiled and destroyed.”

PMW recently exposed that a PA TV children’s program featured a child reciting a poem promoting Pan-Arabism. The poem, by an Egyptian writer, included the words “Our enemy, Zion, is Satan with a tail.”

The children’s program, entitled “The Best Home”, aired on April 7 on a PA television station run by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement.

PMW Director Itamar Marcus told Arutz Sheva on Wednesday that the PA is continuing to present female terrorist mastermind Dalal Mughrabi as a role model.

Dalal Mughrabi led a group of terrorists who in 1978 sailed from Lebanon to Israel to carry out a terror attack in which 37 Israeli civilians were killed. It was the deadliest terror attack in Israel’s history.Popular Posts:

Sanctions Hurting Assad, but Iran is Stepping In

Syrian President Bashar Assad is quickly spending through his cash reserves as sanctions choke off many sources of funding, but the regime is getting help from Iran in bolstering finances, CNN has reported.

According to intelligence assessment shared with the news network, Assad likely had about $30 billion in cash reserves to spend when unrest and bloodshed began in March 2011. He’s about down to $6 billion to $9 billion.

Officials told CNN that with the war against his own people costing him about $1 billion a month, Assad should have been out of business by the end of the year. However, sources are also telling CNN that he is getting a cash infusion from Iran, funneled in through banks in Lebanon.

The assessment is that Iran’s support, combined with Russia’s political and economic support, could keep Assad going for months to come.

The assistance is just part of how Iran is helping Syria. The Islamic Republic has already provided further aid including small arms and assistance in helping the Syrian government use computer monitoring to root out the opposition using social media and other Internet tools.

The report said that while troops from 19 countries, including the United States, have converged in Jordan for the Eager Lion military exercise, U.S. and Jordanian elite forces are doing additional training to prepare for potential fallout should Syria’s government collapse.

According to CNN, U.S. Army Green Berets are training Jordanian special forces in a number of so called “worst-case scenarios”, including Syria’s chemical and biological weapons falling out of the control of government forces.

The U.S., Jordan and other allies are worried that opposition forces or groups like al Qaeda could seize some partial control of 20 key chemical and biological sites inside Syria.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Syria’s oil minister blamed international sanctions for shortages of cooking gas and other basic goods.

According to The Associated Press, Minister Sufian Allaw said the measures have bled $4 billion from the nation’s ailing economy. The U.S. ambassador to Damascus, however, denied that the international sanctions are to blame for the shortages facing Syrians.

“Our sanctions purposefully do not target oil and diesel imports, because we know that the Syrian people need both for their day-to-day lives,” Ambassador Robert Ford wrote on the embassy’s Facebook page.

Ford said the government is using fuel imports for its tanks adding, “If the Assad regime decided to cut its military expenditures, more diesel and oil would be available for the Syrian people to use.”

Allaw, who spoke to reporters in Damascus, said sanctions had cost Syria’s oil sector about $4 billion.

Prices for a tank of cooking gas have spiraled to some $25 as shortages have spread across the country. Allaw said Syria’s gas production covers only half of the country’s needs.

He said that officials are seeking imports from countries not party to the sanctions, noting that a Venezuelan tanker carrying 35,000 tons of fuel docked in Syria on Tuesday. Another is supposed to follow.

Turkey Indicts 4 Former IDF Commanders Over Mavi Marmara

Turkey has issued an indictment in absentia against four Israeli military commanders over a 2010 Gaza flotilla incident in which nine terror activists were killed on a Turkish-sponsored vessel.

According to a report published Wednesday in the Turkish newspaper Sabah, the 144-page indictment seeks life imprisonment for the four commanders. It was prepared following alleged testimony from 490 passengers who participated in the illegal flotilla, and relatives of the terrorists who died after attacking the Israeli commandos.

The Mavi Marmara boat, owned by the terrorist-linked IHH organization, participated in the six-vessel flotilla that claimed to be bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza via the sea. It was later discovered that no humanitarian aid whatsoever was carried in the hold of the Mavi Marmara.

Israel operates a maritime blockade on Gaza in order to prevent terrorists from entering the region, and stop them from smuggling in weapons and other ordnance.

The activists were told numerous times they could dock at Ashdod port and transport their goods legally through the land crossing at Kerem Shalom, but they refused.

Instead, they refused to change course when directed to do so by Israeli navy officials, who then sent commandos to board the vessels when they tghreatened to violate Israel’s maritime boundaries at Gaza.

Upon boarding the Mavi Marmara, the commandos — armed only with paintball guns and pistols — were viciously attacked by armed terrorists brandishing iron bars, knives and other weapons. One of the Israeli soldiers was left in critical condition, and a number of others were seriously wounded. Nine of the terror activists died in the clash. All of them were Turkish citizens, including one was a native American.

After the incident, Turkey demanded a formal apology from Israel and when Israel refused, expelled Jerusalem’s ambassador from Ankara. Diplomatic ties were severely downgraded, and have remained impaired ever since.Popular Posts:

Truth About the Cult of Islam

Despite daily news of atrocities, our leaders are always keen to stress that Islam means peace or is it pieces?,

but does it mean peace, and can it?

Do they mean the peace of the graveyard?

Are they lying to us?

There are no Buddhist suicide bombers.

There are no Christian suicide bombers.

There are no Jain suicide bombers.

There are only Islamic suicide bombers.

Murderous jihadists exist wherever there are muslims. They bomb and behead in Indonesia, Thailand, Algeria, and of course Iraq.

Is Islam a beast in Sheep’s clothing? Islam is not lamb.

Politicians tell us that islam is a peaceful religion.

They claim all religions kill and use the Nazis and the IRA as examples. But the Nazis were antichristian. They often killed the priests first (in Poland and France) and re-established pagan festivals of light.

The IRA were political not religious. Wolf Tone, one of the founders of Irish secession was actually a protestant. It is not a simple catholic vs protestant equation. The IRA killers never shouted “Praise Jehovah” at one of their killings. Unlike the muslims who like to shout “Hello Akbar”, or “Allah-ilah’al qamar” or something at their murders.

Acts of terror are denounced by elders. They say they are unislamic. But are they?

Were the mobs baying for the death of a writer and burning his books considered unislamic or just a normal islamic protest?

How about the rioters over a few innocuous cartoons? The media don’t mention that they are pictures on sale in muslim countries showing the Mo’ mad guy, sometimes present at beheading and such and much worse than any little western cartoon.

The multiculturists and left wing radicals say that there isn’t a problem. We just need to stop muslim youth being disaffected, but the truth is that muslims cultivate a sense of grievance. Disaffection is inbuilt into their religion where they see non-muslims (kafirs) as inferior and a kafir life as much less than a muslim life.

Muslims cultivate a sense of anger and injustice. You only have to cross the border from Thailand to Islamic Malaysia to see this. The happy smiling faces are replaced by ones of anger and hatred. Yet these two adjacent countries are almost identical in climate and resources. Thailand manages to be a pleasant place and Malaysia is full of hostility. The only difference is the religion.

The fruits of islam are disrespect for non-muslims, and often squalor, illiteracy and poverty. Overlaying these fruits are violence and hatred and murderous fanatics wherever muslims are.

The left-wing supports the muslims because they share their anti-Americanism.
The extreme right-wing is allied with the muslims anyway, because of their anti-Semitism.
The moderate right-wing does business with the muslims and want’s to appease them.
The moderate left-wing tries to solve the conflict by concessions and dialogue.

Everyone says the problem is anything but islam. It is the poverty or it is the foreign policy. No-one says what is obvious to anyone else, that it is islam that is the problem.

A Christian martyr is someone that is prepared to die for his beliefs. A muslim martyr is someone that will kill you for their belief. See the contradiction?

The muslims claim they are peaceful, and if you don’t believe them, they will kill you to prove it.

The suicide bombers are always described as being good or devout muslims. Hey, you think islam itself could be a problem?

Ignoring the Jewish “Nakba”

This year, as every year, the international media noted Nakba Day, the day when Palestinians mark the anniversary of the ‘catastrophe’ of Israel’s independence and the flight of 700,000 Arab refugees from the newborn state of Israel. Noticeable by its absence was any mention of the contemporaneous Jewish ‘nakba’, the flight of around 850,000 Jewish refugees from Arab countries.

Isabel Kershner of The New York Times is among the offenders. Leo Rennert wrote in American Thinker: “A fair reading of history demands that equal attention be paid to this Jewish “naqba.” But fairness is in short supply in The New York Times. There’s also no indication in Kershner’s piece about the different outcomes of these two “naqbas.”

Although the refugees were displaced in roughly similar numbers, the western press and media remain deaf, dumb and blind to the Jewish refugees. Do a search for “Palestinian refugees” on the influential BBC website and you get 1,197 results. Do a search for “Jewish refugees” and you get only 187 results.

Of these, the BBC contained only one story about Jews from Iraq and two references to Jewish refugees from Arab countries, neither of them emanating from BBC programs. With the exception of a 2011 radio program fronted by BBC2 controller Alan Yentob about Iraqi Jews, the only Jewish refugees discussed by the BBC website have been Holocaust survivors.

When the media does feature Sephardi or Mizrahi suffering in Arab lands, the implication is that Zionism caused their troubles. Before Israel, so the myth goes, ‘Jews and Arabs coexisted peacefully’ through the centuries.

According to David Harris of the American Jewish Committee, the western media are accomplices in a campaign to ‘deny or extinguish a Jewish presence deeper in the region’. A seasoned Middle Eastern affairs journalist had been surprised to discover that Harris’s wife had, as a Jew, been forcibly expelled from her native Libya. The journalist had no idea that Jews had ever lived in Libya nor that every trace of the millenarian Jewish presence had been obliterated almost overnight. So un-newsworthy was the story at the time, that The New York Times, Harris says, devoted exactly two tiny news briefs in 1967 to the end of the Libyan Jewish community.

The net effect of this bias by omission is that the average viewer, listener or reader has no clue that Jews lived in the Middle East and North Africa well before the Arabs, let alone were brutally ejected. He or she could be forgiven for thinking that Israel was established to atone for European sins, at Arab expense. But 50 percent of the Jewish population of Israel are there not because of the Nazis but because of the Arabs.

Egypt Confirms Christians’ Fears of Islamic Rule, Sentences 12 to Life in Jail

Egypt has confirmed Christians’ fear of Islamic rule and has sentenced 12 to life in jail for their part in warding off Muslim mobs last year. The court acquitted eight Muslims.

The Christians were found guilty and sentenced for killing two Muslims and for causing a disturbance in the April 2011 riots south of Cairo when a Muslim bus driver, angered by a speed bump in a Christian neighborhood, began to fight with security guards.

The bus driver later returned with dozens of friends to protest the guards’ beating him, and Christians viewed the demonstration as a prelude to an attack. They shot from rooftops, killing two and wounding two others, and Muslims retaliated the following week setting Christian stores and homes on fire.

Both the Christians and the Muslims were charged with possessing illegal weapons, but only the Christians were convicted.

Egyptian human rights activist Ishak Ibrahim called the verdicts “faulty and unfair.”

Egypt’s 10 percent Christian population is afraid for its future after this week’s presidential election. Such fear has forced an estimated 100,000 Christians to flee Egypt since last year’s revolution.

“Two of the frontrunners in the race with a realistic chance of winning are deeply devout Islamists,” CBS correspondent Elizabeth Palmer said on Sunday.

Palmer interviewed a Coptic priest and a Christian layman. Father Pola Marqus of St. Mary’s in Cairo told her, “We see that in neighboring countries with Islamic leaders, Christians aren’t safe… So we’re concerned now about getting an Islamist president, too.”Popular Posts:

Pakistan Restores Twitter After Block Over Blasphemous Cartoons

Pakistan restored access to Twitter on Sunday after briefly blocking the site over posts that Islamabad said promoted a Facebook contest involving caricatures of the prophet Muhammad, AFP reported.

The website was blocked by the telecom authority on the orders of the IT ministry, after authorities accused Twitter of refusing to remove the posts.

Mohammad Younis Khan, spokesman for Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said on Sunday evening that access to Twitter had “been restored,” approximately 12 hours after it was cut off.

Younis Khan said the IT ministry ordered the ban to be lifted, but was unaware of the reason behind the decision.

The conservative Muslim state blocked Facebook for almost two weeks in May 2010 over a competition to draw the Prophet Mohammed, which led to restrictions on other popular sites.

Khan said that there was “blasphemous material” on the site and that those responsible for the Facebook competition had been “trying to hurt Muslim feelings”.

“Both Facebook and Twitter were involved. We negotiated with both. Facebook has agreed to remove the stuff but Twitter is not responding to us,” he said at the time.

In Pakistan, Twitter is used by prominent public figures such as celebrities, cabinet ministers and members of parliament.

The Ministry of IT had also directed the telecommunication authority to remain on high alert and immediately block all links displaying what it deemed to be profane caricatures of religious figures, AFP reported.

Twitter users in Pakistan lashing out at the government, calling the decision “corrupt and low caliber government.”Popular Posts:

Uncovering Early Islam

The year 1880 saw the publication of a book that ranks as the single most important study of Islam ever. Written in German by a young Jewish Hungarian scholar, Ignaz Goldziher, and bearing the nondescript title Muslim Studies (Muhammedanische Studien), it argued that the hadith, the vast body of sayings and actions attributed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad, lacked historical validity. Rather than provide reliable details about Muhammad’s life, Goldziher established, the hadith emerged from debates two or three centuries later about the nature of Islam.

(That is like today’s Americans debating the Constitution’s much-disputed Second Amendment, concerning the right to bear arms, by claiming newly discovered oral transmissions going back to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Obviously, their quotations would inform us not what was said 225 years ago but about current views.)

Since Goldziher’s day, scholars have been actively pursuing his approach, deepening and developing it into an full-scale account of early Islamic history, one which disputes nearly every detail of Muhammad’s life as conventionally understood – born in 570 A.D., first revelation in 610, flight to Medina in 622, death in 632. But this revisionist history has remained a virtual secret among specialists. For example, Patricia Crone and Michael Cook, authors of the synoptic Hagarism (Cambridge University Press, 1977), deliberately wrote obliquely, thereby hiding their message.

Now, however, two scholars have separately ended this secrecy: Tom Holland with In the Shadow of the Sword (Doubleday) and Robert Spencer with Did Muhammad Exist? (ISI). As their titles suggest, Spencer is the bolder author and so my focus here.

In a well-written, sober, and clear account, he begins by demonstrating the inconsistencies and mysteries in the conventional account concerning Muhammad’s life, the Koran, and early Islam. For example, whereas the Koran insists that Muhammad did not perform miracles, the hadith ascribe him thaumaturgic powers – multiplying food, healing the injured, drawing water from the ground and sky, and even sending lightening from his pickax. Which is it? Hadith claim Mecca was a great trading city but, strangely, the historical record reveals it as no such thing.

The Christian quality of early Islam is no less strange, specifically “traces of a Christian text underlying the Qur’an.” Properly understood, these traces elucidate otherwise incomprehensible passages. Conventionally read, verse 19:24 has Mary nonsensically hearing, as she gives birth to Jesus, “Do not be sad, your Lord has placed a rivulet beneath you.” Revisionists transform this into the sensible (and piously Christian), “Do not be sad, your Lord has made your delivery legitimate.” Puzzling verses about the “Night of Power” commemorating Muhammad’s first revelation make sense when understood as describing Christmas. Chapter 97 of the Koran, astonishingly, invites readers to a Eucharist.

Building on this Christian base, revisionists postulate a radically new account of early Islam. Noting that coins and inscriptions from the seventh century mention neither Muhammad, the Koran, nor Islam, they conclude that the new religion did not appear until about 70 years after Muhammad’s supposed death. Spencer finds that “the first decades of the Arab conquest show the conquerors holding not to Islam as we know it but to a vague creed [Hagarism, focused on Abraham and Ishmael] with ties to some form of Christianity and Judaism.” In very brief: “the Muhammad of Islamic tradition did not exist, or if he did, he was substantially different from how that tradition portrays him” – namely an Anti-Trinitarian Christian rebel leader in Arabia.

Only about 700 A.D., when the rulers of a now-vast Arabian empire felt the need for a unifying political theology, did they cobble together the Islamic religion. The key figure in this enterprise appears to have been the brutal governor of Iraq, Hajjaj ibn Yusuf. No wonder, writes Spencer, that Islam is “such a profoundly political religion” with uniquely prominent martial and imperial qualities. No wonder it conflicts with modern mores.

The revisionist account is no idle academic exercise but, as when Judaism and Christianity encountered the Higher Criticism 150 years ago, a deep, unsettling challenge to faith. It will likely leave Islam a less literal and doctrinaire religion with particularly beneficial implications in the case of Islam, still mired in doctrines of supremacism and misogyny. Applause, then for plans to translate Did Muhammad Exist? into major Muslim languages and to make it available gratis on the Internet. May the revolution begin.

New Video Reveals Jewish ‘Mixed Feelings’ on Obama

While recent polls have shown that American Jews still favor President Barack Obama for re-election, despite his rocky relationship with Israel and with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, a new video released this week suggests that the opposite may be true, or at the very least that some of the American Jewish population is still undecided.

“Pastrami Politics” is a fun video which at the same time reveals some strong and confused attitudes that Jewish Americans have towards President Obama and his policy on Israel.

The video was filmed by Rabbi David Nesenoff, who personally walked up to people seated at several kosher delis in New York, asking them about the food and then proceeding to inquire about Obama and Israel.

Rabbi Nesenoff is the same person whose interview with Helen Thomas revealed the long-time journalist’s hateful views on Israeli Jews, who she said should “go back to Poland.”

Some of the people shown in the video admit having voted for Obama in 2008 but at the same time say they are now reconsidering their vote in the November elections. Some of the issues raised include Obama’s Cairo speech in which he reached out to Muslims, his stance on attacking Iran, and his calling on Israel to return to the indefensible pre-1967 borders.

Rabbi Nesenoff told Arutz Sheva, “I was actually surprised by their answers, especially that so many of them had similar feelings. Even those who were still fans of Obama were not very trusting of him and did not like his foreign policy.”

He added that the video, which was posted to YouTube last week, “is getting a lot of attention because of its raw honesty.”

“It’s very difficult for a Democrat to vote Republican but many will do it for the sake of Israel. It certainly provokes much discussion,” noted Rabbi Nesenoff.

Cranes in Jerusalem Mean Sovereignty, Success

Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat told Arutz Sheva on Thursday that he sees cranes in Jerusalem as a sign of success – and sovreignty.

“We are on a path of success,” Barkat said. “We see it in several respects, including growth and development. This skyline is full of cranes. “Anyone who comes and sees this, sees that something good is happening in the city – Jerusalm is succeeding.”

“Sovereignty cannot stay on paper,” he declares, “Anyone who thinks that if you just declare sovereignty you have resolved the problem is wrong.”

“There is a direct relationship between development in the urban neighborhoods and sovereignty,” he said. “You must enforce zoning and construction laws, collects taxes, improve schools, talk with the people and solve problems – that is sovereignty.”

Barkat told Arutz Sheva that illegal construction could only be tackled if Israel took responsibility for Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods.

“You have to understand where illegal construction comes from,” Barkat said. “We have Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, which, unfortunately, are badly neglected. As mayor, visiting these areas, I was forced to ask why this is?”

“We have two bad alternatives: one, we can act like an ostrich; the other, to accept a huge disparity between the quality of life in these neighborhoods, and other neighborhoods, which should not be.

“I choose a third option,” Barkat said. “I chose to take responsibility and extend my office’s sovereignty to these neighborhoods, to improve the quality of life in them, and increase investment there.”

The move to improve the quality of life in eastern Jerusalem is not without political implications.

“It’s not a controversial idea, but right-wingers are more supportive of this process than the left, because they understand that investments in East Jerusalem are a means of applying Israel’s sovereignty,” Barkat said.

“The left thinks differently about the city’s theme of unity,” he went on. “They do not realize that ideology and practice must go hand in hand. There is no chance that Jerusalem will succeed if she is divided again.”

“So we have to insist on the unity of the city. For the right, improving the quality of life in eastern Jerusalem jives with both practice and ideology. For the left, it jives with practice, but ideologically it is problematic. I’m not sure they want it.”

Interestingly, Barkat says some of his strongest supporters are Arabs living in eastern Jerusalem.

“They have lot of respect,” Barkat said. “They know I care about them and know their quality of life will rise. This is important to all of us. Additionally, they are increasingly satisfied with the city and recognize my office’s sovereignty in Jerusalem.”

“This leads to a situation where they themselves would prefer to keep Jerusalem united because they see the results of our efforts and they understand progress.

“Its not Zionism, but in practice, they know it is important to continue to live under Israeli sovereignty,” Barkat explained.

However, the primary impediment to Barkat’s goals for Jerusalem is not the political left, or Arabs in the city, but Israel’s own security establishment.

“Unfortunately, whoever gave a ‘waiver’ for permits in eastern Jerusalem- and his reasoning was probably due to security considerations – did not take into account how dividing Jerusalem with a fence [the security wall] would affect Israel sovereignty,” Birkat said.

“I have not ignored the issue,” he said. “I have raised it again and again at the political level, but the tools available to the Jerusalem Municipality to alter security policy is limited.

“This difficulty is very real. I keep telling the government we must be allowed to exercise sovereignty in neighborhoods beyond the security wall. But, this problem persists.”Popular Posts:
