Kassam rocket

A Kassam rocket exploded Sunday afternoon in an open area of the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council district. No one was injured and no damage was reported in the attack.

Three Kassam and Grad missile attacks that were followed by Israel Air Force retaliation, made it clear the so-called “ceasefire” was unlikely to become reality. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorist organization that Israel will not tolerate continued attacks. This did not prevent the firing of a fourth Grad Katyusha missile, also aimed at Ashkelon, which missed the mark at midday and exploded in an open area.

Day care centers were closed in most cities in the south. In the coastal city of Ashkelon, only those centers with bomb shelters were scheduled to open.

Most classrooms are empty, as schools have already begun their Passover vacations. Those schools where vacation had not yet begun held classes as usual.

Other Security-Related Incidents
In north-central Israel, an Arab youth set fire to a field adjacent to the Ramat Yishai neighborhood of Kedumim, in central Samaria, on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control and stopped it from spreading into the town.

IDF soldiers began searching for the perpetrator, who fled. Officials said it was likely that the youth had hoped the winds in the area would quickly spread the flames into the town.

In south central Israel, an Israeli vehicle was stoned by Arab youths Sunday morning. The attack occurred near the Palestinian Authority Arab village of El Aroub, located along Highway 60 slightly south of the Gush Etzion junction.

No one was injured but the vehicle was damaged. IDF soldiers searched for the attackers.
