Urgent Response Needed to Ohio Gov. Kasich’s Political Cowardice, Selfishness
URGENT: Ohio Gov. John Kasich – who was propelled to victory in 2010 as a Tea Party conservative – has sold out his State AND us for 30 pieces of silver to the ObamaCare bandwagon, agreeing on Monday to expand Ohio’s Medicaid program under the odious PPACA! And right now this Benedict Arnold governor is encouraging other GOP governors to do the same! We MUST take immediate action to reinforce our governors to still stand strong against the ObamaCare sellout or Barack Obama wins, and America is condemned to socialized, government run healthcare – forever.
STOP OBAMACARE IN ITS TRACKS – FAX THE STATES TODAY!
REMEMBER, our States can still assert their Tenth Amendment rights to opt out of the Medicaid portion of ObamaCare, block insurance exchanges and ultimately still defeat ObamaCare BUT SELFISH DEFECTORS LIKE KASICH MUST BE PUNISHED, AND ALL THE GOVERNORS AND THE CONGRESS MUST BE PUT ON NOTICE THAT OUR RESOLVE TO BLOCK & DEFEAT OBAMACARE IS UNREMITTING!
With the elections over and the general publics’ attention largely focused elsewhere, a few double-crossing GOP governors have accepted the Federal government’s poison apple offer to pay 100% the initial expansion costs and 90% thereafter…
You see, this sellout has HUGE ramifications because Kasich has just joined Team Obama in BLOCKING any spending cuts to Medicaid, which includes containing the costs for the fraud-riddled program that he and other governors depend on to balance their States’ budgets! In other words, once the Federal expansion is implemented, it will be impossible to reform or downsize again in the future whether we can afford the ObamaCare overhaul or not!
While the final terms of Kasich’s deal with the White House – yes, the Oval Office is infiltrating our State level of government further corrupting federalism and other constitutional protections meant to protect ‘We the People’ – some are speculating that part of the negotiated terms will include a “sweetheart” relaxation for Ohio of the ObamaCare mandate requiring States to expand Medicaid eligibility to those earning up to 133% of the poverty level.
Meanwhile, the left is celebrating Kasich’s quisling defection, while our country and our healthcare system slips closer and closer to definite RUIN.
Kasich’s betrayal is just the latest example of Barack Obama’s Chicago thug-tactics hard at work. We’re sure Kasich, who faced a tough referendum on union reforms in 2011, was targeted as the most vulnerable by this administration and they pursued him relentlessly until he folded like a cheap suit, the very definition of a political coward…
What a weakling Kasich is, a real Neville Chamberlain appeaser. Let his collapse be the death knell of his political ambition, just as Chamberlain’s sellout of rights and liberty was to his career! Remember Thomas Paine, “These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and even Democrat-led West Virginia AT A MINIMUM must hear from you as they are all either States that have REFUSED to establish State Exchanges or are on the fence because they KNOW THEY CANNOT AFFORD IT!
Obama has them relentlessly targeted to sign up for ObamaCare exchanges and Medicare expansion – and they MUST HEAR FROM YOU that America supports their State’s resistance!
Barack Obama and his ObamaCare cronies are ignoring the basic math that says ObamaCare isn’t going to work – OUR GOVERNORS MUST NOT BE BRIBED OR BLACKMAILED INTO ACCEPTING SHORT-TERM PROMISES ABOUT LONG-TERM PROBLEMS THAT WILL ONLY FOOT US – YOU AND ALL AMERICAN TAXPAYERS – WITH UNAFFORDABLE BILLS, MORE TAXES AND BAD BIG BROTHER HEALTHCARE!
With just days to go, now is NOT the time to give up our fight. Obama is getting backed into a corner with his healthcare overhaul, and that’s right where we want him, because if his pet legislation can’t count on sharing its cost burden among all the States, it will NEVER be implemented!
By 2014, if we DO NOT FLAG OR FAIL IN OUR FIGHT, we WILL have a conservative Senate, and ObamaCare will become a nightmare of the past!
With Obama’s re-election, the white flag of surrender run up by the GOP elites and Boehner, and an incoherent ObamaCare decision returned by a treacherous, unprincipled Supreme Court – efforts to save America from socialized healthcare might seem hopelessly bleak.
NOT SO!
The STATES can block ObamaCare from destroying our healthcare system, while we rally the U.S. House to man-up and accomplish the job of DEFUNDING this monster – the #1 job we sent them there to do in 2010 and now again in 2012!

Demand today that EVERY State refuse a partnership exchange or State-based exchange for facilitation of ObamaCare! Demand the States refuse Medicaid Federal expansions!

YOU NEED TO EMBOLDEN AND ENCOURAGE OUR STATES TO CONTINUE BLOCKING OBAMACARE ENACTMENT!
If enough States continue do so, Congress will have no choice but to reopen ObamaCare. The GOP-controlled House with experienced grassroots and mobilized States’ resistance pushing them hard is in a much stronger position to resist funding and facilitating ObamaCare than they were when this harmful law was enacted, IF WE CONTINUE TO PUSH CONGRESS FOR ACTION!
State-created exchanges mean higher taxes, fewer jobs, and less protection of religious freedom. States will be financially responsible for sky-rocketing costs, yet the Feds will have all the control over this boondoggle. States are better off defaulting to a Federal exchange – which at present is UNFUNDED and WHICH A GOP HOUSE CAN REFUSE TO FUND. The Medicaid expansion for States is likewise too costly and risky a proposition. Republican Governors Association chairman Bob McDonnell (R.,Va.) agrees, and with his announcement that Virginia will implement neither provision, a real States’ resistance movement has consolidated. Kasich of Ohio is the first defector and we MUST ensure he is the last.
There are many compelling arguments against creating exchanges. Here are six of the best –
First: States are under no obligation to create one.
Second: operating an ObamaCare exchange would be illegal in 14 States that already have enacted either statutes or constitutional amendments (or both) forbidding State employees to participate in an essential exchange function, implementing ObamaCare’s individual and employer mandates.
Third: each exchange would cost its State an estimated $10 million to $100 million per year, necessitating tax increases.
Fourth: Congress has authorized no funds for Federal “fallback” exchanges. So Washington cannot yet impose exchanges on States at all.
Fifth: defaulting to a Federal exchange exempts a State’s employers from the employer mandate – a tax of $2,000 per worker per year. If all States defaulted to the UNFUNDED Federal exchange, that would exempt 18 million Americans from the individual mandate’s tax of $2,085 per family of four.
Sixth: rejecting a State exchange reduces the Federal deficit. ObamaCare offers its deficit-financed subsidies to private health insurers only through State-created exchanges. If all States declined, Federal deficits would fall by roughly $700 billion over ten years.
For reasons very like these six against State exchanges, States should ALSO refuse to implement ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion. The Supreme Court ruling EXPLICITLY gave States that option. All States should exercise it.
Medicaid is rife with waste and fraud. It increases the cost of private health care and insurance, crowds out private health insurance and long-term care insurance, and subsidizes State dependency, discouraging enrollees from climbing the economic ladder. There is little reliable data demonstrating Medicaid improves health outcomes and no evidence whatever that it is a cost-effective way of doing so.
It is estimated that Medicaid will cost individual States up to $53 billion over the first ten years. And that’s before the re-elected Obama follows through on his threats to shift yet more Medicaid costs to States.
Medicaid costs are already bankrupting State governments, without ObamaCare adding overnight 30 million people to the government’s entitlement rolls. At the same time, Medicaid payments for services rendered are so low that patients have trouble finding physicians and other health providers who will accept them for treatment.
Neither the States nor the Federal government has the money to expand Medicaid, and Medicaid is unworthy of expansion. If ALL States firmly decline, Federal deficits will shrink by another $900 billion and there will be much more opportunity and more resources for REAL healthcare reform!
The problem is, many States think they are going to get a pot of Federal gold to fund these “State Exchanges” and help take enrollees off their Medicare rosters. Guess what? Just the opposite! Cost estimates are skyrocketing, there’s NO MONEY (just deficit spending): they are (surprise, surprise) already running BILLIONS and BILLIONS over budget in Obama Funny Money!
Here’s why: ObamaCare offers “premium assistance” – tax credits and Federal taxpayer dollar subsidies – to households purchasing coverage through new State health insurance exchanges. Democrats knew this assistance was essential to hide much of the law’s cost and reduce the vast premium hikes Americans will face after ObamaCare goes into effect in 2014. If consumers had to directly absorb the full cost of nationalizing one sixth of our economy, the already strong support for repeal would skyrocket!
So ObamaCare authorizes premium assistance in State-run exchanges (Section 1311) but in a glaring failure, not Federal ones (Section 1321). In other words, a State refusal to create an exchange will act as a clear mechanism to block much of ObamaCare’s spending and paralyze implementation of the law. By NOT laundering Federal tax dollars (and MORE DEFICIT SPENDING) through State mechanisms, it also helps expose to the otherwise propagandized American electorate just how unaffordable ObamaCare really is!
The States can stop ObamaCare in its tracks just by refusing to establish insurance exchanges!
THE COURT UPHELD THE STATES’ RIGHT TO RESIST; we have at least this powerful weapon in our battle for Constitutional government, personal liberty, and healthcare freedom – AND WE URGENTLY MUST MOBILIZE AND STAND ON THIS GROUND WHILE WE GATHER OUR CONGRESSIONAL FORCES TO FIGHT!
Congress DID NOT intended that tax credits and subsidies to help consumers buy health insurance be available only through State-created exchanges. Yet the Feds have no funding for theirs! If States leave the exchanges to the Federal government to form, as the law requires, but NO FUNDING – ObamaCare goes on life support!
Because if subsidies and tax credits aren’t available in States with Federally-run, unfunded exchanges, then two other lynchpins of the law would also be undermined: the requirements that employers of a certain size offer insurance and that most individuals buy insurance.
We MUST keep the pressure on Republican-led State governments to refuse to set up the online insurance purchasing exchanges. Without the State exchanges, their residents would be ineligible to receive the tax credits and subsidies. This step also would gut the so-called employer mandate, which the law says will take effect in States where residents are eligible for such assistance.
The need to TAKE ACTION and STIFFEN RESOLVE in the STATES is URGENT –
YOUR ACTIVISM TO THE STATES IS CRUCIAL! IT MAY WELL DECIDE THE FINAL OUTCOME OF OBAMACARE! The GREAT NEWS is that WE ARE WINNING this fight based on the strongest arguments for our freedom and the fiscal reality that ObamaCare is economically ruinous!
This fight MUST BE DECIDED BY WE THE PEOPLE showing UNFLAGGING RESOLVE and MOBILIZING THE STATES to KEEP FIGHTING while we work to GALVANIZE AND EMBOLDEN THIS NEW CONGRESS!
DO NOT let the Leftwing extremists carry the day, and coerce America into Marxism THROUGH their DEPLOYED FORCES OF POLITICAL INTIMIDATION! TODAY IS THE DAY TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
TAXPAYERS are going to be FORCED by the millions into ObamaCare against their will, and FORCED to provide funding for abortion against their will. If we have a current health plan that we like, we will lose it and then we’re going to pay even more to be part of an overcrowded, over-bloated healthcare mess bogged down in bureaucracy and bankruptcy, not the private system that has brought us innovation and access, disease prevention and life-saving breakthroughs in care that have made American medicine the envy of the world.

Remember what Nancy Pelosi said about having to “pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it”? It turns out that was probably the truest thing said about this monstrosity!
Again, if the States REFUSE to create Insurance Exchanges, REFUSE the Medicaid Expansions and the GOP House DOESN’T FUND FEDERAL EXCHANGES – EVEN WITH THE SUPREME COURT’S RULING, the Administration has NO WAY to fund the implementation of ObamaCare.
This is a major strategy WE NEED TO GET EVERY STATE TO PURSUE! Now we know how to stop ObamaCare, no matter how corrupt, spineless and craven a Republican-majority Congress may prove to be. Our task now is to fax our State officials, enlighten them to Pelosi’s massive mistake and demand that our States flatly REFUSE to establish health insurance exchanges. IT REALLY IS THIS SIMPLE.
