As many times as President Obama has promised immigration reform in return for the 67% and 71% of the Hispanic vote he received in his 2008 and 2012 bid for the White House, what has he actually achieved? He has blamed House Republicans for the lack of reform all while refusing to admit that his commitment to securing our borders would be the first step in actually gaining bipartisan support for reform. Although a formal immigration reform bill has not been passed, over the past 6 years, President Obama has fundamentally and systematically destroyed U.S. laws on deportation and immigration.
He has encouraged illegals to come into the country, sign up for government entitlement programs funded by taxpayers, all while demonizing and retaliating against any state that enforces immigration laws. He has consistently lied and misled the American people, while he has removed any and all barriers at our borders. Many Americans who have been in favor of immigration reform have now tired of the lack of legal ramifications for those crossing our borders and hiding within the system, while freely partaking of public services that we, as Americans, have paid for and must jump through hoops ourselves in order to receive. If the country wants immigration reform, they have to look no further than the oval office for causing the political stalemate that has stymied all efforts to resolve the issue.
Below you will find a timeline that shows how President Obama has not only disregarded our current deportation and immigration laws, but has systematically opened up our borders and refused to deport any illegals currently in the US. In this day of terrorist threats, you must ask the question: why is our back door wide open to those whose life’s purpose is to destroy us?
I know the article is long, but I can assure you, if you read the entire timeline, you will be fully informed and no doubt appalled at the deception that has been played out at the expense and detriment of the American citizens and the United States. (Senator Jeff Sessions has provided the majority of the timeline).
President Obama gave a speech on Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
Obama: “To begin with, our borders have been porous for decades. Obviously, the problem is greatest along our Southern border, but it’s not restricted to that part of the country. In fact, because we don’t do a very good job of tracking who comes in and out of the country as visitors, large numbers avoid immigration laws simply by over-staying their visas.”
“More fundamentally, the presence of so many illegal immigrants makes a mockery of all those who are going through the process of immigrating legally. Indeed, after years of patchwork fixes and ill-conceived revisions, the legal immigration system is as broken as the borders.”
March 8 2010: ICE (U.S Immigration and Custom Enforcement) Inflates Deportation StatisticsAccording to the Washington Post: “Months after reporting that the number of illegal immigrants removed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement increased 47 percent during President Obama’s first year in office, the Department of Homeland Security on Monday corrected the record, saying the actual increase in those deported and ‘voluntary departures’ was 5 percent.”
June 18, 2010: Obama Administration Sues Arizona over Immigration Enforcement Law.
Obama: “For example, there are those in the immigrants’ rights community who have argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are [here] illegally with legal status, or at least ignore the laws on the books and put an end to deportation until we have better laws. And often this argument is framed in moral terms: Why should we punish people who are just trying to earn a living? I recognize the sense of compassion that drives this argument, but I believe such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair. It would suggest to those thinking about coming here illegally that there will be no repercussions for such a decision. And this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration. And it would also ignore the millions of people around the world who are waiting in line to come here legally.”
July 30, 2010: In a memo to agency director Alejandro Mayorkas, the Obama Administration details the plan to bypass Congress and grant amnesty by executive fiat.
October 17, 2010: The administration dismissed hundreds of deportation cases.Up 700% between July and August 2010.
Obama: “Ultimately, our nation, like all nations, has the right and obligation to control its borders and set laws for residency and citizenship. And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons, the 11 million who broke these laws should be held accountable.”
August 24, 2010: The Houston Chronicle reported that DHS had begun“systematically reviewing thousands of pending immigration cases and moving to dismiss those filed against suspected illegal immigrants without serious criminal records.”
February 15, 2011: DHS Ignores Mandate To Maintain Operational Control of the Border. The Government Accountability Office announces that U.S. Customs and Border Protection maintains only 69 of the roughly 4,000 miles along the northern border and only 873 of the almost 2,000 miles along the southwestern border. Only 33.7 miles of the 700 miles of fence mandated by the Secure Fence Act of 2006 had been completed by that time. Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Michael McCaul responded to the President’s claim, stating “the border is not secure and it has never been more violent or dangerous.”
Obama: “We have more boots on the ground on the Southwest border than at any time in our history. We doubled the personnel assigned to Border Enforcement Security Task Forces. We tripled the number of intelligence analysts along the border. For the first time, we’ve begun screening 100 percent of southbound rail shipments. And as a result, we’re seizing more illegal guns, cash and drugs than in years past. Contrary to some of the reports that you see, crime along the border is down. And statistics collected by Customs and Border Protection reflect a significant reduction in the number of people trying to cross the border illegally.” “So the bottom line is this: The southern border is more secure today than at any time in the past 20 years.”
March 16, 2010: DHS Announces Termination of Funding for Virtual Fence Along the Southwestern Border
Obama: “But our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem only with fences and border patrols. It won’t work. Our borders will not be secure as long as our limited resources are devoted to not only stopping gangs and potential terrorists, but also the hundreds of thousands who attempt to cross each year simply to find work.”
Obama: “That’s why businesses must be held accountable if they break the law by deliberately hiring and exploiting undocumented workers. We’ve already begun to step up enforcement against the worst workplace offenders. And we’re implementing and improving a system to give employers a reliable way to verify that their employees are here legally. But we need to do more. We cannot continue just to look the other way as a significant portion of our economy operates outside the law. It breeds abuse and bad practices. It punishes employers who act responsibly and undercuts American workers.”
January 2009: Obama Administration Ends Worksite Enforcement Actions. In early 2009, ICE executed a raid (initiated and planned under the Bush administration) on an engine machine shop in Bellingham, Washington, detaining 28 illegal immigrants who were using fake Social Security numbers and identity documents. Shortly thereafter, pro-amnesty groups criticized the Administration for enforcing the law. An unnamed DHS official was quoted in the Washington Times as saying, “the Secretary is not happy about it and this is not her policy.” Instead of enforcing the law, the Secretary investigated the ICE agents for simply doing their duty. Esther Olavarria, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, said on a call with employers and pro-amnesty groups that “we’re not doing raids or audits under this administration.”
Obama: “So, we have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement. But even though we’ve answered these concerns, I suspect there will be those who will try to move the goal posts one more time. They’ll say we need to triple the border patrol. Or quadruple the border patrol. They’ll say we need a higher fence to support reform. Maybe they’ll say we need a moat. Or alligators in the moat. They’ll never be satisfied. And I understand that. That’s politics.”

June 23, 2011: ICE Union Outraged Over Morton Administrative Amnesty Memos. The ICE union issued a press release expressing outrage over Director Morton’s actions, stating: “Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy.” “have excluded our union and our agents from the entire process of developing policies, it was all kept secret from us, we found out from the newspapers. “the result is a means for every person here illegally to avoid arrest or detention, as officers we will never know who we can or cannot arrest.” The release concluded: “we are asking everyone to please email or call your Congressman and Senators immediately and ask them to help stop what’s happening at ICE, we desperately need your help.”
Obama: “Today, there are an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. But they’ve broken the rules, and have cut in front of the line. And the truth is, the presence of so many illegal immigrants makes a mockery of all those who are trying to immigrate legally.”
