Iraq Forces Take Ramadi: Another “Great Accomplishment” by Obama?

By John W. Lillpop

In 2010, Vice President Joe Biden shocked the world with the following brag about Iraq:

“I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You’re going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You’re going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government.”

Of course Biden’s optimism was never matched by events on the ground. However, a measure of success was noted recently when Iraq forces recaptured Ramadi from ISIS.

The big question: Is this success by Iraq another :great achievement” for the Obama foreign policy team and the vaunted Obama strategy for destroying ISIS?
