When asked about the $400 million payment to Iran that just happened to coincide with four Americans being released last January, the president expressed mock disbelief that this is even a story, suggesting that it’s “old news” the most transparent administration ever previously disclosed to us last January. The suggestion was that apparently, somehow we all just missed it, and are now making a huge deal about a plane flown under the cover of night carrying wooden pallets stacked with $400 million Swiss francs, euros and other currencies — that just happened to land right before four of our American hostages were released by Iran.
The president today declared that suggestion that the $400 million payment was ransom for the hostages “defies logic.

To be sure, if there’s anyone who knows how to defy logic, it certainly is President “if you like your doctor, you can keep it” Obama — the same man who continues to assure us that ISIS is on the run, even as it expands its global reach and increases the frequency of its attacks. The same man who traded five Guantanamo terrorists for one American deserter. Yeah, that guy.

Of course, the president’s assurances did little nothing to quell the outcry over the $400 million ransom the Obama administration paid to Iran in exchange for our hostages. And, as if we needed any more evidence to reinforce it, there’s this new revelation from one of the hostages himself who was released in that exchange.
As Breitbart reports:
On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan,” Saeed Abedini, one of the four hostages released from Iran back in January, stated that on the night he was freed, his captors told him they were waiting on another plane to arrive before letting him go.
Abedini said, “I just remember the night that we’d been in a[n] airport, just take hours and hours there. And I asked one of the…police that was with us, that, why are you not letting us to go to the…plane? And he told me we are waiting for another plane, and if that plane take off, then we’re going to let you go.”
He added, “[T]hey told us you’re going to be there for 20 minutes. But it took like hours and hours. We slept at the airport, and when I asked them why you don’t let us go, because the plane was there, pilot was there, everyone was ready that we leave the country, they said we are waiting for another plane, and until that plane doesn’t come, we never let you go.”
Abedini was then asked, “Were they effectively waiting for the money to come in before they then let you take off?” He answered, “Yeah. They didn’t talk about money. They just told us about the — they told me about the plane. … So, the reason that they said you’re here in the airport is — was just because we are waiting for another plane.”
No doubt Josh Not-So-Earnest will have some new spin tomorrow to try to dispel this new revelation. But as Charles Krauthamer said this evening:

Yeah, utterly laughable. As in the Obama administration laughing contemptuously at the American people.
