It is unfortunate enough that terrorist groups are consistently referred to as “militants” in many media outlets. Patrick Martin’s description of Hamas as a “resistance movement” in his most recent article for Canada’s Globe and Mail is entirely inappropriate and bestows a legitimacy on the actions of an organization recognized by Canada (and others) as a terrorist group.
Equally disappointing is the Globe and Mail’s lack of response when HonestReporting both tweeted and complained directly via email.
