Trump lost popular vote, he BEAT Clinton by 3 million votes outside of California and New York

Final vote tallies from the November 8 election show that Democrat Hillary Clinton out-polled President-elect Donald Trump by 2.8 million votes while losing the contest by a wide margin in the all-important Electoral College.clinton-vs-trump-polls

Her upper hand with voters, however, came down to performances in New York and California that were far stronger than necessary.

Clinton won California by 4.2 million and took New York by more than 1.6 million. The combined 5.8 million-vote advantage in just those two states was more than twice the size of her overall edge nationwide.

When the dust settled, she lost the rest of the country by 3 million votes.

The breakdown:

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.  Trump won 3,084 of them.  Clinton won only 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State, Trump won 46 of them, Clinton won 16. Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes. In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond) Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles. The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles. When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election. Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc) don’t and shouldn’t speak for the rest of our country.

In Case You Missed It:  BREAKING: President Trump signs order to fight online censorship

Trump ended Election Night controlling 306 votes in the Electoral College, a number that slipped to 304 when presidential electors cast their ballots on Monday. Clinton had 232, but lost five turncoats for a total of 227.

Clinton would still have won California’s 55 electoral votes if her margin there had been far smaller. The same is true of New York’s 29 electoral votes.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Wednesday morning blasted liberals who insist Trump’s victory is illegitimate because more Americans voted for Clinton.

‘This is football season. A team can have more yards and lose the game. What matters is how many points you put on the board. The Electoral College is the points,’ he said on ‘Fox & Friends.’

‘Trump actually carried – in the 49 states outside of California, he had a 1.2 million vote majority. He got killed in California because he never campaigned there,’ Gingrich said.

‘The Democrats had two people running for the U.S. Senate the way California law works, no Republican running for the U.S. Senate. So we got beaten in the biggest state. It didn’t matter. That’s not how you pick the presidency. Trump’s now going to be president. She’s not going to be president. That’s called winning the game.’

He said some Democrats are ‘not going to get used to the idea’ of a President Trump ‘because he is, from their standpoint, horrifying. … They live in a delusional world. That’s why they lost the election: They decided to stay with the delusion.’

  1. Let’s see – So far the Left has tried disinformation and distortion of every statement, gesture, vocal inflection et al made by Mr. Trump. Next came the padding of voter lists with illegal voters of every imaginable stripe. Other than the fact that these crimes allowed Hillary’s minions to claim they won the inconsequential popular vote, nothing was accomplished. Then we had rioting in the streets. Followed by the shilling by Jill Stein (and her wasted 7 million dollars) on inconsequential recounts. The next course on the menu was to delay the electoral voting until electors were give top secret clearances and advised as to all of the findings of the C.I.A. with regard to Mr. Trump’s dealings with Vladimir Putin. Next, it was time to cajole, shame, bribe, threaten, et al electors to switch their votes on December 19th. Now, the Podesta People look forward to January 6th and another arcane parliamentary maneuver. Suggestion – skip the January 6th insurgency and prepare for impeachment – Proceedings are scheduled to begin as soon as Trump is sworn in. I pray to G-d the effort will stop there, but I fear it will not. The efforts to terminate President Trump’s term in office will not stop until … Let’s just sincerely hope the Secret Service is on full alert.

In a more serene and more civil environment, a saner but equally inappropriate strategy would be to change the rules legally, which brings me back to the Electoral College. There is a time, a place and a procedure to address the arguments in support of the abrogation of the rules of the Electoral College. That time, that place, and that procedure are not consonant with the pathetically insipid and dangerous desperation strategies of the Left. Had different rules been in place (e.g., direct election by popular vote) before the November election, I assure you that the players in the game – all of them – would have changed their strategies and focused on densely populated regions of the nation. The candidates played the game according to the established rules that predetermined the role of the electoral college with regard to the election’s ultimate outcome.

Put quite plainly and simply, the futile attempts to alter the 2016 election results (post game) are a national disgrace, bordering on sedition. Indeed, Mrs. Hillary Clinton (one of America’s greatest and most stalwart defenders of representative democracy) said that to question the election’s outcome was a direct threat to our government. That comment of Hillary’s during the debates was possibly the only time during the campaign which she spoke the truth.

Our country’s laws are a function of the Constitution and Congressional debate and legislation, not whimsical ex post facto reconsideration of the tenets of the Federalist Papers and the revered sanctity and wisdom of Alexander Hamilton.

To those who seek safe spaces and special consolation centers, may I remind you that there are ways to protect the nation’s woeful Jeremiahs from their imagined existential threat to our Republic: Just reflect upon the political vicissitudes of Andrew Johnson, Richard Milhous Nixon, and William Jefferson Clinton.

Leftists: You have nearly four years to amend the Constitution. In the meantime, I understand that the Democrat Party plans on providing Play-Doh and milk and cookies to mitigate the angst of the mindless serfs.

In the meantime, I would suggest that palliative medication be considered to alleviate the symptoms of extreme schadenfreude.

    • Shameful of the lest, anything for power. Wanting to make major changes because it doe snot fit their prerogative is concerning, Democratic leaders are speaking the same tune.
