President Trump called out the media Wednesday on how they have treated him unfairly, more than any other politician in history.
Trump was delivering a commencement address to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy’s Class of 2017.
“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media. No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly,” he told the graduates in New London, Conn.
Trump was imparting life advice about how “things are not always fair” and that “things happen to you that you do not deserve.”
“You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams,” Trump told the graduates, drawing applause.
Trump said that adversity makes one stronger, and he encouraged the students to never back down or stop doing what they know is right. He said opposition mounts in relation to how righteous one’s fight is.
