Thousands of so-called “Anti-Fascist’ (Antifa) activists overwhelmed a free speech rally in Boston, Mass., on Saturday, resulting in 33 arrests.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) posted a Tweet on Saturday, imploring the Antifa protesters to stop throwing objects – including rocks, bottles and urine – at them. Six activists were arrested for assault and battery, three of which were charged with assaulting police officers. Four were charged for carrying a dangerous weapon. The BPD has posted details of all 33 arrests, charges, and names of suspects.
The Associated Press reports that black-clad activists accosted an elderly woman holding an American flag and chased and cursed at a Trump supporter:
“There have been some confrontations involving counterprotesters, including a group that grabbed an American flag out of an elderly woman’s hands, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground.”
“TV cameras showed a group of boisterous counterprotesters chasing a man with a Trump campaign banner and cap, shouting and swearing at him. Other counterprotesters intervened and helped the man safely over a fence to where the conservative rally was to be staged.”
This wasn’t the first time Antifa activists have assaulted police. In June, Antifa activists in Portland, Oregon threw chemicals, feces and urine at police officers, The Blaze reported at the time:
“Portland, Oregon Police Chief Michael Marshman revealed on Friday that riot cops forced Antifa protesters out of local parks during a Jun. 4 protest after the anti-fascist group began launching balloons filled with feces, urine and chemicals at law enforcement.
“In an open letter to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, Marshman also noted that protesters ‘may have been using ‘gopher gassers,’’ which are “small rodent poison gas devices.”
