The FBI did indeed have proof that the Steele dossier was a fraud when they used it to obtain the FISA warrant to spy on candidate Trump. Yet they lied to get the FISA warrant.
Yesterday John Solomon from the Hill reported that a State Department employee had evidence that the Steele dossier was a fraud before it was used by the FBI to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on candidate Trump –
Newly unearthed memos show a high-ranking government official who met with Steele in October 2016 determined some of the Donald Trump dirt that Steele was simultaneously digging up for the FBI and for Hillary Clinton’s campaign was inaccurate, and likely leaked to the media.
The concerns were flagged in a typed memo and in handwritten notes taken by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec on Oct. 11, 2016.
Her observations were recorded exactly 10 days before the FBI used Steele and his infamous dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign’s contacts with Russia in search of a now debunked collusion theory.
It is important to note that the FBI swore on Oct. 21, 2016, to the FISA judges that Steele’s “reporting has been corroborated and used in criminal proceedings” and the FBI has determined him to be “reliable” and was “unaware of any derogatory information pertaining” to their informant, who simultaneously worked for Fusion GPS, the firm paid by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Clinton campaign to find Russian dirt on Trump.
Solomon continues –
Kavalec’s handwritten notes clearly flagged in multiple places that Steele might be talking to the media.
“June — reporting started,” she wrote. “NYT and WP have,” she added, in an apparent reference to The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Later she quoted Steele as suggesting he was “managing” four priorities — “Client needs, FBI, WashPo/NYT, source protection,” her handwritten notes show.
Those same notes suggest Steele spun some wild theories to State, including one that the Russians had a “plant in DNC” and had assembled an “HRC dossier,” apparent references to the Democratic National Committee and Clinton.
The FBI redacted the recipient’s names in Kavalec’s notes and emails to prevent the likely evidence that the FBI was made aware of that the dossier was fake and Steele was sharing the dossier with the press.
The key point as we all know is that the FBI has to hide the fact that they knew the dossier was fake and unverified because they used it in the FISA warrant application to spy on Trump.
They also knew Steele was providing the dossier information to the press before they fired Steele, but they can’t let anyone know they knew this because they already stated that they did not know this.
In the Grassley letter to Rosenstein at the DOJ and Wray at the FBI dated January 4, 2018, the Senator says that in an interview Comey said in March 2017 that Steele was reliable –
Note that the FBI does not say “Isikoff” or “Yahoo News”, it says “the press”. Is this what was provided to the FISA Court for the Carter Page application?
Also, now looking back at the FISA application, the second paragraph states that the information for the warrant came from the State Department –
If the information from the State Department noted above was from Kavalec, this would mean that the FBI knew without a doubt that Steele was speaking to the press BEFORE obtaining the Carter Page FISA warrants, but they lied to the FISA court, saying Steele didn’t speak to the press, and then they fired Steele afterwards, claiming it was because Steele spoke to the press.
The whole FISA scam was as corrupt, creative and sinister as the allegations that Judge Kavanaugh was a gang rapist.
The Democrats, the Deep State cons at the FBI, DOJ, State Department and Intel community, and their media are lying liars involved in more corruption and crimes than any others in US history!
Comey lied to CNN host Anderson Cooper and says that the FBI did not spy on the Trump campaign.
Republican Congressmen Jim Jordan responded to the clip of Comey’s lie with a savage response, “If that’s not spying, I don’t know what is.”
