Moments before the first shooting, Rittenhouse sought out injured people to render aid at a nearby gas station. When he tried making his way back to the auto shop, he was chased by a “mob” who recognized him as the person guarding the shop they “wanted to destroy.”

He said an attacker lunged at the teen in an assault, the attackers name is Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, of Kenosha. Rosenbaum had an open criminal case on criminal case on battery, disorderly conduct and domestic abuse charges, according to the Wisconsin Circuit Court website. His previous record could not immediately be confirmed.

Rioters in the Wisconsin city were trying to destroy a auto lot in response to  an officer who shot a local rapist Jacob Blake. Blake brawled with the cops, resisted arrest, shrugged off two tasers and had a knife in his possession.

Many of the rioters were armed and faced off with other counter protesters, also armed.

Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, is facing charges that he allegedly killed Anthony M. Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, a journalist was trailing Kyle and witnessed the events.

An attorney representing Rittenhouse says his client was acting in self-defense when he opened fire.
In a statement to NBC News attorney John Pierce said, “This was classic self-defense and we are going to prove it. We will obtain justice for Kyle no matter how hard the fight takes or how long it takes.”
About 11:45 p.m. Tuesday — hours after the 8 p.m. curfew — Rittenhouse was walking down the streets near the car dealership holding what investigators later determined to be “a Smith & Wesson AR-15 style .223 rifle,” the complaint says.
At the riot, the complaint states, Rittenhouse clashed with rioters gathered near the car dealership for reasons not specified. Rosenbaum threw an object that appeared to be a plastic bag at Kyle and missed, according to the complaint.
Rosenbaum and Rittenhouse  moved across the parking lot and appeared to be in close proximity when loud bangs suddenly rang out and Rosenbaum fell to the ground, according to the complaint.
There are several reports that Rittenhouse was shot at before shooting Rosenbaum.

A journalist who was following Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum at the time provided investigators with more details on what happened. He told investigators Rosenbaum was trying to get Rittenhouses’ gun, according to the complaint.
Another video shows Rittenhouse  running from the a mob followed by rioters in hot pursuit.
“A person can be heard yelling what sounds like, “Beat him up!” Another person can be heard yelling what sounds like, “Hey, he shot him!” the criminal complaint alleges. In another video, a person yells, “Get him! Get that dude!”
While running away from the violent mob, Rittenhouse tripped and fell as people chased him down, and as he lay on the ground, a second person identified as Huber approaches him with a skateboard in his right hand, the complaint says. Here is a screenshot of the video when Huber Assaults Rittenhouse with his skateboard.

When Huber reaches the defendant it appears that he is reaching for the defendant’s gun with his left hand as the skateboard makes contact with Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse then rolls towards his left side and as Huber appears to be trying to grab the gun. the gun is pointed at Huber’s body. The defendant then fires one round … Huber staggers away, taking several steps, then collapses to the ground,” the complaint says.

After shooting Huber, the Rittenhouse points his gun at am armed third male approachinghim, later identified as Gaige Grosskreutz who was armed with a pistol, the complaint says.
Grosskreutz was shot in the right arm and takes off in the opposite direction screaming for a medic while the defendant walks away, the complaint alleges.
He is connected to the far left group “People’s Revolution Movement” and he has been arrested previously and may be a felon.

Kyle is also charged with misdemeanor Possession of a Dangerous Weapon under age 18 for a Smith & Wesson AR-15 rifle under section (2)(a) of a law that later in section (3)(c), in unfortunately confusing terms, actually permits rifle possession at age 16+.
