Following the deterioration in the relations between Turkey and Israel, it seems the IHH terror organization is also trying to cash in on the trouble.

A lawyer representing the group announced Friday that he given the prosecutor in Istanbul a list of names of IDF soldiers who were involved in taking over the Mavi Marmara during the flotilla in 2010.

IHH is the group that organized the flotilla which led to the trouble between Israel and Turkey. The IHH’s so-called ‘peace activists’ refused to reroute the Mavi Marmara to the Ashdod Port and insisted on going to Gaza despite the naval blockade being imposed on Hamas. IDF soldiers had no choice but to board the ship. The IHH terrorists on the ship then attacked the soldiers and tried to kidnap, forcing the soldiers to open fire (which they were originally commanded not to do). Nine Turkish nationals were killed.

According to the IHH lawyer’s announcement, the names of the soldiers he submitted to the prosecutor are those who gave the orders to take over the Mavi Marmara.

The IHH is demanding that an extradition order for these soldiers be issued within the next several days. The lawyer representing the organization said the list submitted is based on testimonies given by Israeli soldiers to the Turkel Commission that investigated the flotilla on behalf of Israel.

That committee determined that the IDF acted in self-defense against the IHH terrorists on the Mavi Mamara boat and also said that the blockade of Gaza does not violate international laws.

The IHH move comes after a series of measures Turkey has taken against Israel. The latest threat came on Thursday, when Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan threatened to dispatch Turkish warships to escort aid ships from his country to Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel is apparently unwilling to sit back. On Friday it was reported that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has decided to adopt a series of reciprocal measures in response to Turkey’s latest anti-Israeli moves.

Senior Foreign Ministry officials are planning to convene for a meeting over the weekend with Lieberman. The meeting will be dedicated to formulating a response to Erdogan’s recent threats.
