We Hear You: Electing to Investigate Voter Fraud

Editor’s note:  Our coverage of  the voter fraud issue, much of it by Fred Lucas, spurs a strong turnout among The Daily Signal’s audience. Today we feature some of those comments. Don’t forget to write us at [email protected]—Ken McIntyre

Dear Daily Signal: I’m a reader from western Pennsylvania expressing my thanks for Fred Lucas’ report on Florida voter fraud and your other efforts to flush out rampant voter fraud in this great country (“Florida Democrat Election Official Admits Noncitizens, Felons Voting”).

Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes’ non-efforts to prevent voter fraud are typical of Democrat officials. She sounds like your run-of-the-mill, corrupt Democrat capo from Philly or Pittsburgh whose primary objective is maintaining Democrats’ power without regard for the rule of law or maintaining a civil society.

Both social norms and the Constitution are targeted by the nihilist, communist left/Democrat Party for annihilation. Brenda Snipes gets paid, and who cares about the American chumps like me, my wife, daughter, and son (both recent college grads and neither remotely PC, praise the Lord)?

Leftist apparatchiks like Snipes are vital to the Joey Stalins of the Democrat Party, the malevolent Schumer and abortionist Pelosi. Snipes most likely considers Antifa to be a community organizing group; in fact, it islike ACORN and Black Lives Matterviolent, anti-American, communist, and darlings of the mainstream media.

May Heaven protect this great country from its malignant enemies within, and may you have much energy and good health.Joe Evans

Speaking as someone who lived in Broward County for 34 years, this has been going on for years. The county is run by Democrats, and they have been using these excuses for years. Keep the pressure on, and maybe we can get this exposed for what it iscorruption.G. Michael Wood

I have one concern that seems not to have been addressed in any article I have read on the voter fraud issue: mail-in ballots. How is the ballot verified to come from the voter? How is the ballot issued without a physical presence, at least at the time of registering, to have a bona fide signature? Finally, who determines the signature on subsequent votes in fact matches the original?

I am all for anyone who is eligible to vote to be able to do so. But can anyone give a rational explanation why one party is for cleaning the voter rolls, eliminating the deceased, felons, or duplicate registrations, and requiring an ID to verify who you are, and the other party is not? The voter suppression ruse is not an answer.Bob Driscoll

I’ve been a conservative since my mid-teens.  That’s a total of 64 years. This issue of voter fraud has been bouncing around for decades, yet still remains unresolved.

If we have the evidence to support our charge, let’s take it through to a conclusion if it’s as serious as many think it is. And, I for one, do. Yet no one wants to even talk about it as an actual problem.

The late New York City mayor, Ed Koch, liked to roam the streets asking, “How am I doing?” I’ve modified that question, for the purposes of this email, to “How is the conservative movement doing?”  My answer: Lousy.

As much as I loathe the left, I do give them credit for taking a crap ideology and winning, while we take a great ideology and we can’t do diddly-squat with it. I’m embarrassed to be a conservative.

I do confess to having made a major error in my thinking. Instead of living like an idiot and burning the candle simultaneously at both ends, I’ve done the opposite. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t drug, I don’t spend money I don’t have. So instead of having one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel, I’m likely to be here when it hits the fan. Too bad for me.

I don’t think we really want to win.  I suspect that we want to annoy the left, not defeat them. They know how to win. We are a pathetic bunch of losers.Frank Neuhaus

The politicians need to be confronted with the fact that in all states, I believe, there is no process for confirming that a person who registers to vote is a citizen (“Meet the Elected Democrat Who Wants to Fight Voter Fraud”). We operate on the honor system, although I suspect there is the outside chance of a perjury prosecution.

However, once the people living in the U.S. come to learn that no one checks, we will have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of legal residents and illegal aliens register to vote. The politicians need to be forced to take a position on whether they are willing to have noncitizens vote.Bernard R. Gans, Los Angeles

Thank you for the excellent article about the Democrat from West Virginia who supports election reform (“Meet the Elected Democrat Who Wants to Fight Voter Fraud”). Having been a candidate for state representative in Pennsylvania and a committeeman for both major parties at different times, I can tell you that voter fraud is real.

When I ran for state rep in 2004, I had four districts in Philadelphia. The voter list had as many as 12 names at the same residence, and many had different last names. Someone would move out and the county never removed them.

I know that people have ended up voting and the election officials at the polls would realize later in the day that the individuals had moved out of the district more than six months earlier. They probably forgot to register at their new location.

Constantly, people would show up to vote from other areas, perhaps thinking, “Oh, there’s a polling place, let me go vote.” Of course, they would be upset to be told this isn’t their polling place. Fortunately, election judges can stop them if their names are not on the books.

But states with same-day registration, like New Hampshire, can be a problem. Who at the polling place can take the time to verify that voters live where they say they live?Ross Schriftman, Horsham, Pa.

I was elected as a Republican to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2002 from two wards in Dover, and served my two-year term with pleasure.  I cosponsored a school voucher bill  that lost by a vote of 171-172. Since that time, the teachers union has had me as their target.

I ran for re-election in 2004 and lost by 30 votes. My wife and I were at the polls with my sign and saw a large number of people show up at the polls to vote in our ward whom we had never seen before. I had canvassed the streets quite thoroughly, with 3,000 voters in total.

After I lost by 30 votes, my wife and I sent out about 400 first class letters to those who voted by same-day registration. Over 200 came back stamped by the post office: No such street number, no such person at that address, no such street.

I notified the office of the New Hampshire attorney general about my evidence. An assistant attorney general, appointed to that office several years earlier by then-Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, called me and asked to see some of those returned envelopes.  I sent them to him. He did absolutely nothing.

I think it is safe to assume I really won that race by about 170 votes. I ran again the following year, in 2006. Again, I lost by about 30 votes.

We have a good secretary of state in Bill Gardner, a Democrat, but there was and still is voter fraud in New Hampshire. Most of the fraudulent voters came from the University of New Hampshire, which is 5 miles from Dover.David Scott

I sometimes like to go to the city parks here in Mesa, Arizona, and talk to whoever comes along. I have talked to some illegal aliens who told me when I asked that they had help to register to vote in the U.S. elections. But they said they didn’t vote, they gave their ballots away.

I’ve seen footage of Democrats stuffing ballot boxes with armfuls of ballots. It seems to me that it should be easy to review voter restoration and death records to make sure the people voting are legal to vote and alive. If I could, I would like to help with the job. I’m 64 and have been out of work for over a year.Kendall Stephenson, Mesa, Ariz.

Regarding Fred Lucas’ story “Some States Resisting Trump Voter Fraud Probe,” in San Diego we witnessed illegal aliens at the Department of Motor Vehicles lined up in the voter registration line. California allows illegal aliens to have driver’s licenses. One line was to get a driver’s license, and the other was to register to vote.

Why is this allowed? It’s unbelievable. Because they can get away with it, and 85 percent of the registered illegal immigrants vote for Democrats. If 85 percent voted Republican, illegal aliens would be deported so quickly it would make your head spin.

This is one big reason the Democrats support open borders and amnesty.  Get them to the polls, and the Democrats will never lose another election.Roger Hueppchen, El Cajon, Calif.

In Washington state, illegal immigrants can get a driver’s license. Then, with the motor voter law, they are given a voter registration form. They can use their driver’s license number to register to vote. Nothing to see here, just move along.Acornspring

This and That

My wife, friends, and I have had it with the Republican children in Congress who can’t seem to agree on a damn thing. I clearly remember Harry Reid getting every Democrat to vote for Obamacare whether they liked it or not. Frankly, Mitch McConnell should resign; he has been an inept leader of the Senate.

If Republicans will not help President Trump fulfill his promises to the voters, we will simply not vote at all in the next election. Why bother, or as Hillary Clinton once said:  “At this point, what difference does it make?” One party will be as useless as the other.Dale Athanas

Great article by Fred Lucas on Democrats’ plans A, B, and C to impeach President Trump. Way to go.Mike Forbes, Austin, Texas

Many articles are slanted too far to the right and get out of bounds of the Constitution. You do a great job most of the time, but remember readers rely on the truth. I am very conservative myself, but I do not like being deceived by so-called conservatives who have agendas that are not in the best interests of the whole but a few. After all that Hillary Clinton has done, and what Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., has done to expose her, just why is she still on the loose, even contemplating running in an election? Use American justice and put her in jail, for the sake of all of us.Roy Kappel, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Thank you, Daily Signal, for supporting Christianity in America while political correctness runs amok in the media. Thank God that Donald Trump won the election. I will not support media such as CNN, ABC, NBC, or any other outlet that supports political correctness, trashes our president, and supports Islamic countries that persecute Christians and women.Henry Fuss
