A rock used for throwing in attacks by PA Arabs

The attackers struck late on Sunday night, as Kalfa was making his way from Jerusalem to the pre-military academy in Yatir, in the Hevron region.

The attack took place near El Aroub in the Gush Etzion region; a frequent site of such attacks.

“Near El Aroub I suddenly saw a huge block that had been thrown at me,” Kalfa recalled Tuesday. “At the last second I hit the brakes and veered out of the lane.”

“Thank heavens, the rock hit the lower part of my car,” he said, adding, “I was saved by a miracle. I’m used to rock attacks; to the terrorists’ sorrow, they didn’t succeed this time.”

Rock and firebomb attacks have become common on highways in Judea and Samaria, and in parts of Jerusalem. Such attacks have caused serious injury to several people over the past year; among the victims were two two-year-old girls who suffered serious head wounds.

“Rocks were meant to build, not to destroy,” Kalfa declared. “But the Israelis living in Judea and Samaria experience rock attacks at the hands of terrorists every day, and unfortunately, the media doesn’t care.

“I don’t understand why every time graffiti is sprayed on a wall it makes headlines,” he continued, referring to so-called “price tag” vandalism targeting Arabs. “While at the same time, attempted terrorism, and firebomb attacks, are almost completely ignored.”
